Royal Catholic Teacher Seminars, which fist appeared at the beginning of the 19th century as a result of Prussian educational reform, took on an important mission of training future organists. Therefore in many Silesian parishes of the 19th and the fist half of the 20th centuries it was a common practice for teachers to be organists at the same time. As it is shown by the experiences of Upper Silesia, teacher seminars were the source of highly qualifid church musicians.
